Contains flags of sovereign states without full international recogntion AND territories which do not possess full independent sovereignty.
if you added North Korea and Palestine, you should add South Korea and Israel. Same with Taiwan and Mainland China. Donetsk and Luhansk are not the official names of the republics. Full names are - Luhansk People's Republic and Donetsk People's Republic.
It's not that Bhutan doesn't recognise these countries, but rather that Bhutan doesn't have diplomatic relations with them, as it follows an isolationist policy.
This needs A LOT more type-ins and a couple minutes more. I knew them all, but ran out of time. I can only imagine how much harder it would be if I didn't know them.
A helpful new feature: We no longer have to use just Wikimedia photos, so the 3 flags with the name right on them can be edited and then directly uploaded.
I'm going back through the few quizzes I have and weeding out the poor images I was stuck with.
Thank you. I don't necessarily disagree with your description, but it seems to me that their status should mean that they are still included in this quiz. Perhaps I should broaden the definition of what is included here?
Good question. Both the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China (Taiwan) are included here to acknowledge the fact that both countries are not fully 'recognised' by the international community. Now obviously the PRC is the major power with much greater recognition, but it is not universal.
I think they are both countries. It doesn't matter what I think though. This quiz is based on the Wikipedia article 'List of states with limited recognition'.
Nice quiz! Could you add "Cayman" as a write in for the Cayman Islands and "Christmas" as a write in for the Christmas Islands?
For most of the names you accept just the first part of the name (for example, you accept "Pitcairn" for the Pitcairn Islands), so would make the answer write ins consistent across the quiz.
Good quiz, with some good points made above. You shouldn’t have to type in “island” or “islands” for any question really. BVI is a standard Jetpunk type-in for the British Virgin Islands. Tristan should also be enough, as the spelling gets trickier in “Da Cunha”
Great quiz, but I’d remove the yellow box, especially as a lot of those UK dependencies have flags that are broadly similar. Thinking one might be a right answer and then having to type it in half a dozen times wastes a lot of time. Most of them are fairly obscure so I doubt people typing dozens of answers in hope would be a huge problem.
can't believe I put "Southern Ossetia" instead of south ossetia. Luhansk and Donetsk… yeah had no clue. Do people actually believe these are countries instead of Russian puppets tho?
This quiz just reflects the situation as described in Wikipiedia (List of states with limited recognition).
In the case of Bhutan, while it maintains diplomatic relations with only relatively few countries this does not mean that it does not recognise all others as sovereign states.
I hope to expand the quiz to include more flags, and will take your suggestions into account.

There is certainly very limited international recognition of the current situation.
For most of the names you accept just the first part of the name (for example, you accept "Pitcairn" for the Pitcairn Islands), so would make the answer write ins consistent across the quiz.
Nominated in any case
