Finally re-featured after two years.

I computed the lakes using a script based on Natural Earth data.

I chose a threshold of 100 square kilometers because of limitations in the data set. These numbers are probably a slight undercount.

We have higher quality sources for Finland and Mongolia.

Thanks to the users who pointed out errors in the quiz before and sorry for the reset.

Do lakes that cross an international border (Lake Superior, Lake Victoria, etc.) count for all the countries they are partially in?

Yes, as long as they have 100 square kilometers within the country.

It doesn't say click this link first and read it, then do the quiz. Ofcourse you do the quiz first. Then if you are curious you could check the link. Or for those that have issues/complaints "why isn't this on here" "should this also be in here" "what about this country" they could check the link too and see for themselves. And really should before posting such comments imo. On some quizes I've seen dozens of people repeating the same questions while it has been answered a dozens times in the comments too, sometimes directly above their own comment. While they could have just checked the source and see why something was in/excluded for themselves. Ok, end rant :D

Ok, turns out I still got some rant left :D

Friendly reminder, read comments before you post people! And if you do get the urge to immediately post (it happens, sometimes you just want to get it out there) then read the comments after, but delete or edit your post if you see the questions already has been asked many times, or has already been answered or is explained in the source).

Ok that's it, now I'll save up my rant for next year ;)

I have no idea how to create map quizzes or anything like you QM, but the Natural Earth site you shared is a super cool tool/project!

Maybe one day I'll play around with the programming side of things and make some additions to this awesome site.

Would be good to check against Naturalearth data but Wikipedia says Turkey has 13 natural lakes larger than 100 km2. Some of these are hypersaline/shrinking but the Wikipedia numbers seem to be on the conservative side.
