Kootenay (BC) Cities on the Map

The Kootenays are a British Columbian Region encapsulated by the Kootenay and Columbia Rivers, yet split in two by the Purcell Mountains standing up to 3,493 metres above the valleys below. This region is known for its deep (and cold!) fjord-like lakes, railway history and beautiful scenery, home to Yoho and Kootenay National park, hotsprings and legendary skii-hills.

There are 24 cities, towns, villages and district municipalities in the region, how many can you name?

It should be noted that the Kootenay Region, (also known as the Kootenays), doesn't quite fit across Regional District borders cleanly. For example, this map includes Columbia Country (from Columbia-Shuswap Regional District), and Kootenay (from Kootenay Boundary).

Ainsworth Hot Springs, located between Kaslo and Nelson on the map above, is possibly one of the coolest places in BC. Or coldest if we are talking above the glacier-water pool they have. Look it up!

Only got Nelson(because I confused the river from Lake Winnepeg to being in BC, luckily.). Great Quiz again. Which region is coming next?

Thank you! The Kootenays are hard since their biggest cities also lack name-recognition. I'm making a quiz for the Okanagan Region next, which is way more famous in my opinion.
