Thank you! You can draw lines on Inkscape, so I drew the line and then traced it to make a path. In retrospect, it would have been a lot easier to keep the line without tracing but I didn't know how to reduce the number of nodes when free-drawing at the time. Rivers are not so easy to draw in Inkscape :(
