Richard Nixon was elected in 1968 as a resident of New York (where he had moved after losing the 1960 presidential election and the 1962 election for California governor), but was elected in 1972 as a resident of his longtime home of California.

Donald Trump was elected in 2016 as a resident of New York, and in 2024 as a resident of Florida.
