van Damme's middle name is Claude. The hyphenation is to indicate that they should be spoken together, as in Marie-Claud or Jean-Louis. The names themselves are not hyphenated as in Zeta-Jones or Joyner-Kersee, where the hyphenation indicates two surnames: Zeta and Jones; and Joyner and Kersee.

This is so true. Jean-Claude is hyphenated in the same way as Malcolm-Jamal and Ki-Moon.

I misspelled Abdul-Jabbah...I mean -Jabbar.
