Also, I notice that Haley/Haleigh/Halie are grouped together (I got them because I typed Haley) but Hailee/Hailey/Hailie/Haylee/Hayleigh/Hayley/Haylie are separate. In my accent they would all be pronounced the same way, so once I got Haley, I didn't try any other spellings. Halle and Hallie sound different to me (Haley/Hayley etc - long a sound, Halle/Hallie - short a sound).

As for the spelling I just base them off how I would pronounce them. For me Haley/Halle/etc have a short A sound like halogen and Hai/ey/aylie have a long A sound like hay for horses lol.
