I don't mean to troll, but I think we should admit Puerto Rico and merge Connecticut and Rhode Island. Keeps the Senate balance the same and makes geographic sense.

I agree that we should admit Puerto Rico, but I feel like Connecticut and Rhode Island have had pretty distinct histories for a while. I'm probably more in favor of the Dakotas merging or Delaware and Maryland.

Agreed. Disregarding history, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island should become one to be more aesthetically pleasing. Also New Hampshire and Vermont, Maryland and Delaware, and the Carolinas and the Dakotas. Actually, Delmarva should just be one state along with West Virginia. Pennsylvania and New Jersey could merge, and then the CT-MA-RI mass could merge with the NH-VT mass in order to even out the size of the states, at least in New England.
