The problem when there's no consistency, i.e. whether you want the shorter version of the name or the full scientific name, is that it's impossible to know whether an answer is wrong when entered, or just needs something adding to it. To accept answers like Curlew and Oystercatcher, but not Turnstone or Dotterel, is rather weird. It's also quite hard to guess the species from some of the particular pics you've chosen, and it's generally better if birds are divided up between region as it's very hard to know 10.7K+ species.
