The continent is Oceania based on our tectonic plate. The island is Australia and I feel left out being the only island nation excluded because of mislabelled technicalities!
oceania is more a political term rather than a geographic one, australia is awkward since it's a continental landmass.
TECHNICALLY it's an island but using the same logic countries like Germany or China are "island" countries since they're on Eurasia (also technically an island), making it a correct/incorrect answer are both wrong in some way, so removing it is the easiest way to go about it
Only a part of it is on the island of Borneo, the rest is on the Malay Peninsula which is connected to the rest of Eurasia where most of its population resides.
