Only way I got a perfect score is the Monarchs song from Horrible Histories. And I'm American. LOL

I think that's how most Brits born in the mid 90's or later also know the order of the Kings and Queens as well

Why since the Norman Conquest? There were monarchs of England prior to that. Would make the quiz more interesting (and challenging).

I chose the Norman Conquest as this is where the numbering system begins, but a version with the prior kings would be interesting and definitely more difficult. Perhaps time to create a new quiz.

William III and Mary II only ruled jointly until Mary's death in 1694. William III ruled from 1694 to 1702 on his own.

Thank you Horrible Histories!

♫A simple rhyme and ditty for you all to sing-along! OH, WILLIAM! ...bit short innit, we need more Kings! Who came next?♫

The original is better because it begins with "Willie, Willie" (sorry)

And because I wasn't born in the 90s and everything made after the year 2000 is clearly by definition rubbish:

Willie, Willie, Harry, Ste,

Harry, Dick, John, Harry 3,

1-2-3 Neds, Richard 2,

Harries 4, 5, 6, then who?

Edwards 4, 5, Dick the Bad,

Harries twain and Ned the lad,

Mary, Bessie, James the vain,

Charlie, Charlie, James again,

Will and Mary, Anna Gloria,

Four Georges, William and Victoria.

Ned, George, Ned and George again,

Queen Elizabeth now to reign.

Someone needs to update it I think.

tbh I feel the HH one rhymes better and is way easier to quickly say in you head. Then again I never grew up with this version so I don't know the melody behind to say it quick enough.
