Lyrics #4 - Musicals Pre-Contemporary (80s)

The 80s saw a burst of stage productions, both big stage and small. Musicals of the early 80s decade saw an increase in spectacle, sweeping romances, nostalgia and historical storytelling on the 'big' stage productions. There was greater cast diversity and underlying cultural 'commentary'. Smaller productions with eclectic mixes of punk, country, bee-bop and jazz introduced more explicit commentary.
