Taiwan should be accepted as a sovereign country, the same way Kosovo is, even if both have limited recognition.

Maybe an idea to put in the hints that you use the Countries of the World list from JetPunk itself. So that it's consistent. Taiwan and Kosovo are non-UN members, Vatican and Palestine are observers of the UN, just not all 4 get the same treatment in JetPunk, regardless their recognition status.

Our recognition of countries has nothing to do with what the US government, or anyone else, says.

It is based on de-facto sovereignty, not politics.

That said, if you're making a sudden death quiz you probably shouldn't put obviously controversial cases on the quiz.
