Not because it wasn’t funny, but because I couldn’t be bothered. The joke wasn’t funny enough to waste my energy. Everyone else laughed like sheep, but I wasn’t going to join their pathetic display. Who were they kidding? Pretending to find something amusing just to fit in, to appear normal, to be part of the crowd. I wasn’t going to play that game. I’m not some puppet whose strings get pulled by cheap humor or the pressure to conform. I’m tired of these fake, forced reactions, these mindless outbursts that add nothing. Laughter? A meaningless reflex for most. It’s not a real response, just a social transaction to make things easier. But I’m not interested in easing things. I didn’t laugh because I refuse to lower myself to the level of expectation. Let them laugh. I’ll stand apart, because at least I can think for myself. Laughter isn’t always an answer—it’s often just a way to shut up, hide, and move on. And I didn’t want that, so I def didn't laugh at all.
