The majority of the earth's surface has been modified by humans, almost 80%. Name the 19 countries that contain nearly 95% of the remaining wilderness that has not been touched by humans.
Top five countries, marked in gold, contain roughly 3/4 of the world's remaining wilderness.
This would seem to include marine territory. Unfortunately, this makes the 95% distinction incorrect since there would be vast amounts of "untouched" territory in international waters. Mainstream journalism, amirite?
Kiribati is quite obviously included for marine territory, which covers a vast expanses of sea waters, so I don't know for sure.
