Nice quiz! I wonder if there would be an easy and quick way for you to fix it for those that don't use dark mode (I think more users don't).

Maybe dont make them PNG so they stand out on a black background, theyll look slightly worse but at least they can be seen on either version. Nice quiz tho!

You could either make them grey and make a note about it or maybe make them look like a zebra (striped) so their outline is visible at least :) Thanks for you effort

Maybe make the borders of the symbols a bit thicker? I know it can give kind of a clue as background of the flag, but that may help.

Also, maybe consider removing text? Like some countries are too abvious due to the text

The white ones are killing me. Even if you just put a black line around the image it would help! Great idea, just needs refinement of the execution.
