I didn't go off of the cities official neighbourhood list. Instead, I used my neighbourhood definitions as someone born and raised in Vancouver, and know's the city inside out.

Very old, narrow wooden homes, trees older than the houses, Jimi Hendrix
grew up in this neighbourhood.

Sort of a rustic retreat in the middle of the city, quiet, near Vancouver's only lake.
Working class.
Cedar Cottage
This neighbourhood is located just south of the ^ above mentioned ^ neighbourhood.
Medium density, large Vietnamese-Canadian population. Kingsway & Knight st's form
the spine of this neighbourhood.
Kensington
Literally in the middle of Vancouver. Very quiet, located right where East Vancouver
becomes the West Side. Not too far from City Hall.
Cambie
A little cramped, rats, planes flying low causing old the walk-ups to shake slightly.. Lot's
of renters. Definitely has it's charm.
Marpole
Located far away from the traffic and congestion of the city, yet still an extremely bustling
area on the West Side of Vancouver. Very upscale, and also quite dense.
Kerrisdale
Quiet, green, hilly, upscale
Arbutus Ridge
Vancouver's most exclusive neighbourhood. Insanely wealthy.. Mayors, politicians, athletes, celebrities and others own property but don't necessarily live here. Also very picturesque.
West Point Grey
Vancouver's Jewish neighbourhood. Iconic mall is being redeveloped here into a mini-city.
Oakridge
Very central, not Downtown, but part of the urban core. Very very busy transportation throughfare. Most of this neighbourhood is located on an extremely steep hill. Named after the view it has of Downtown.
Fairview
Suburban. Located near Burnaby. Almost feels more like Burnaby than Vancouver. Large neighbourhood, owes it's name to a large attraction located in it's neighbourhood that brings visitors in from across the province and country.
Hastings Sunrise
Trendy, touristy, bricks, old buildings, and cafe's.
Gastown
Bohemian, alternative, vegan, Little Italy. Bustling neighbourhood.
Commercial Dr
East Vancouver. Subruban. Kingsway forms the northern border of this neighbourhood. Southwest corner of the city. Right by Burnaby.
Killarney
Smaller neighbourhood right next to ^ previous answer ^. Also suburban, but more-so townhouses and apartments than single family homes.
Champlain Heights
Up and coming area on the Fraser Area.

Big quiet residential retreat in Downtown Vancouver. Iconic ultra-dense Vancouver neighbourhood known for it's beaches, tree lined streets, and diverse community.
West End
New shiny glass neighbourhood built around 2010. Built on former industrial lands.
Olympic Village
Iconic trendy neighbourhood on the south end of Downtown Vancouver. Has a reputation for things like plastic surgery, partying, influencers, etc.
Yaletown
Small neighbourhood completely surrounded by Chinatown, Gastown, the Downtown Eastside, Downtown, and False creek. Has International Village mall and Downtown Vancouver's only elementary school.
Crosstown
Iconic legendary neighbourhood home to Vancouver's original Chinese community.
Chinatown
Located on the very East side of Vancouver. Historically had a large Filipino-Candian population. This area had a bad reputation in the 90s/00s but has improved significantly.
Joyce Collingwood
Located just north of this neighbourhood. Suburban with an open view of the North Shore mountains. Has Vancouver's only Walmart.
Renfrew
Was part of False Creek, and was filled in during the early 20th century. Flat, and industrial. You only go through here to go to Downtown or Home Depot. Feel's very transitional.
False Creek Flats
Loud, busy, drunk and sloppy, donairs, fights, vapes, spoon guy. Iconic, almost mythical neighbourhood.
Granville Entertainment District
Suits, ties, briefcases and laptops. Polished shiny and corporate. Centred on Burrard Street in Downtown.
Financial District
Tiny industrial area located near the port.. Very small neighbourhood, very few know about it but most locals know of it. Grimey and full of character.
Railtown
Trendy upscale bustling street located on the southern end of the Granville Street brirdge.
South Granville
Huge Chinese and Vietnamese population. Very working class and blue collar. Bustling neighbourhood with food stalls spilling out on to the sidewalk.
Victoria
Large Filipino-Canadian population. The location of Vancouver's worst modern tragedy that occurred in 2025.
Fraser
Shares the same name as ^ above mentioned neighbourhood ^. Large Punjabi-Canadian population. Very quiet, suburban, and peaceful. Located on a hill overlooking the river.
Fraserview
Far far away from all of Vancouver's problems. Upscale. Quiet, leafy green streets and perfectly mowed lawns. Just a stone's throw from UBC.
Dunbar
Mansions, little farms and horses..
Southlands
The only indigenous reserve located in Vancouver. (Technically UBC)..
Musqueam
Iconically East Van. East Van cross is located here. Very working class, has quite a large Indigenous population. Very leafy quiet streets, even though it's located on the edge of the cities core. Sort of half inner city half suburban.
