I would vote for a little more time. If you wanted to make it a bit easier, you could add continents as clues. But that's not really necessary; and I personally like the quiz the way it is. Very creative idea :)

Level 60

Thanks! I originally did have the continents as clues, but that seemed to make it too easy; at least 75% of people got each question. It's true that the time is a bit short, but I want to avoid allowing people to just guess every country they know and getting a bunch of correct answers without actually knowing them.

But isn't the point of this quiz going through the countries and figuring it out? Who would know the answers to these offhand? lol.

Level 47

I think it is perfect, I got all but 3 and they were all small countries. One was a brain fart, but the continent hint would have made the other 2 gimmes!

Think the time's about right. Missed three pairs on my first go; all fairly obvious ones too so was doable. Continents I feel would make it too easy. I like the challenge, which is what is should be IMO.

The first two times I was just short. This time I barely got it.

Scambigol has already made this quiz: Bordering Countries with Same Initial. Featuring his instead would be the better idea, or if it's too much work, give him credit :)

Wow, then there are TWO like that (see also the one linked to in the description). However, I do think this one deserves its separateness because of giving us the letter hints (in alphabetical order).

I was sure there must be an earlier quiz, and I spent quite a bit of time looking, but I never thought to search for "initial". But now that this one is featured, we're not going to change it. Great minds think alike!

I didn't realize there was a similar quiz already out there! I also did some searching to be sure there wasn't a similar quiz before I made this one, but I made the same mistake in not searching for "initial."

Scambigol is one of the best among us, so this is not going to be harmful for him. This version with initial letters is better, and I support featuring quizzes made by less known users. This will motivate them and there will be more of us with good ideas.

I indeed also see your point! But should not the person who thought of the idea and put it to work at least get some form of recognition?

I hear both of you guys (and QM further up the page as well). Maybe, since scambi's version is slightly different (and tougher too), that could still qualify to be featured at some point?

I'm definitely on board for more time. This is only enough time for those that really have the answers memorized, but given a few more minutes, most geography fans will be able to logic the answers out -- which is way more fun!

I'm trying to think of how many you could get with using incorrect-but-common/outdated names.

I can get:

Burma/Bangladesh

Zaire/Zambia

Congo(R)/Congo(DR)

Congo(R)/Cameroon

Congo(R)/CAR

Congo(DR)/CAR

Swaziland/South Africa

This one is quite a stretch but Gaul/Germany

What am I missing?

That is all I can think of. Going by names that have been around a long time, because most countries have been called dozens of things before there was settled on one
