Thank you. I did not even know half of these people's names before I made this, let alone their relation to capital cities. Learning that was definitely a fun part of making this quiz!

You might want to add Sucre, one of the two capitals of Bolivia, which was named after the independence general Antonio José de Sucre ! Otherwise it is indeed a very fun concept for a quiz :)

I’ll be honest, I did terribly but went through and read the answers and explanations afterwards. Very educational! But… what’s with William of Orange? I don’t know much about Danish/English kings. How’s that city named after him?

Because the house of Orange is more properly the House of Orange-Nassau. (And hence, William is the Prince of Orange-Nassau.)

It's missing Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte, the capital of Sri Lanka, named after Junius Richard Jayewardene.

Interesting! deserves to be featured. I knew several of these were named after people, but was not aware of all of them.

Somehow I missed Washington (which is at 94%) but did get Sri etc (which surprisingly is at only 12%)

Actually, there's also Rome, that according to a very popular legend in Italy, Romulus founded it.

By the way very good quiz!

I don't know if a legend counts though

Thanks! It's an interesting question that you raise. I've done a little bit of research and it seems that most contemporary scholars reject the hypothesis that Rome was founded by (and named after) Romulus. It's more likely the other way around: the mythical Romulus might very well be named after the city. Anyway, a fun thing to consider.
