The Best Sellers in Stores chart continued for some time (4 Aug—13 Oct) AFTER the introduction of the Hot 100. The other charts were discontinued before the Hot 100’s introduction.
This novelty song slightly predates David Seville’s (real name Ross Bagdasarian) establishment of the Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise, which continues to this day.
