Ugh! Shield bugs? Another variation between American and Commonwealth English I didn’t anticipate! ;-(
Thanks for the changes - I wasn't criticising with shield bug, using the word "stink" just feels weird for my mouth, and they look like shields - I genuinely had never considered that people would eat those things!
As far as I'm away, a mobile home includes RVs too right? People in the UK would generally understand cos a caravan is always towed behind a car.
I suspect the bugs are most often eaten raw, although I have been unable to confirm.
I updated the other question again … I got my own terminology wrong. RVs include both gigantic self-propelled vehicles with attached living space; and enclosed living spaces that must be hauled by another vehicle. Mobile homes (contrary to their name) actually remain stationary once they are transported to their destination. It is possible to move them, but it is very expensive and cumbersome to do so.
