How many of these words that end in “a” can you unscramble in 20 minutes? There are six each of 5-, 6-, 7-, 8-, 9- and 10-letter words, listed alphabetically. (To make it a little easier, the first letter of each word is capitalized in the scrambled version.)
Note: If you think you don’t see an uppercase letter in a scrambled word, look again: what appears to be a lowercase “L” is probably an uppercase “I.”
Constructive criticism is welcome. Subscribe to get a notification when I release a new quiz.
Really enjoying the Scrambled series, particularly the A-G ones - those ones also easier ;)
It's always funny with the big words because the USA removes a lot of letters, in this case ENCYCLOPAEDIA, HAEMOPHILIA, ANAESTHESIA - so it was surprising to see that the Greek origins of ONOMATOPOEIA are retained across the pond!
For an amusing reversal, the UK spells "Foetus" in a bizzarre way despite this word being from Latin.
I’m not sure how I can solve the UK/US spelling differences problem in this particular series, except for being more mindful to the point of choosing to exclude words I know have spelling differences. That will leave out some of the best words, though, IMO.
Stay tuned for H through Z. (Well, most of those letters, anyway.)
