*First line is the band name. 1965. This British band has the astounding claim of starting the career of three of rock's most renowned guitarists: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. This song was their first Top 10 hit in the US and UK. Eric Clapton didn't like the change and left shortly after this song was released. This song was a departure from their more bluesy sound. At the conclusion of the recording session, one of the band members said, "Who, in their right mind, is going to buy a pop single with harpsichord on it?" It hit #1 in the UK and #6 in the US.
