*First line is the artist name. 1965. I thought this song was sung by Aretha Franklin. I was wrong. She was nominated for a Grammy twice, once for this song. Minnie Riperton provided background vocals. Two member later members of Earth, Wind and Fire played instruments. According to the artist, the "ummms" at the end were not intentional. She briefly forgot some of the lyrics (it was a third take) so she ad libbed and kept going.
