*First line is the group name. 1963. Produced and co-written by Phil Spector, who would marry the lead singer of this group. It is believed he wrote the song to declare his feelings for her. He was marrid to someone else at the time. The lyrics take on a creepy tone knowing that she later claimed he held her in his mansion against her will and she was able to finally escape after years of captivity. This is considered by many to be one of the greatest songs of the 60s. It is a prime example of the Wall of Sound. The drum sequence is highly recognizable.
