Wikipedia calls it "Austria-Hungary"; maybe you could accept that. If you're counting unrecognized states, why not plain old "Rhodesia"? Why not Tanganyika and Zanzibar? Why not Newfoundland? While retaining the same name, the post-1971 Pakistan was a lot different from the pre-1971 Pakistan. What about the Korean empire?
