Source? Dallas as #1 comes across as a monumental error in these rankings. And Des Moines as #2... And #3... Colorado Springs? Have you seen Detective Kenda's series? If what you are trying to do is to tie income with housing/rental price (affordability), and add some measure of crime on top of it, you are always going to come back with a suspect ranking. What would be interesting is a ranking of best places to live by household income bracket.

i found all the information U.S. News - Real Estate. the original source goes in much more detail with different statistics. I just knew it'd be too much information to fit in one quiz so i narrowed it down to 3 statistics i felt were important. I've never heard anyone say Portland is affordable. Maybe compared to Boston's South Shore.

its old statistics. Both asheville and portland have gone up tremendously in price since.
