Name every city that is the largest in its country but is not the capital city of its country, according to citypopulation.de, May 2026. For countries with multiple capital cities, the city must be larger than all of them. Seats of government are not the same as capital cities.

New Delhi, India's capital, is included within Delhi, which is India's most populous urban area. The same situation applies to Sri Lanka.
