I wanted to point out some points that I think would make the quiz even better regarding name entry:
- „Geestemünde“ is(incorrectly) spelt with an extra R
- I think there were some translation discrepancies in Alsace-Lorraine, as some cities like Strasbourg were in their French name and were unenterable with the German name, while some such as Diedenhofen were in their German name and unenterable with the French name
- entering München will get you the urban district, but not Munich I or Munich II
- this is not totally historically accurate, but you could accept Monschau for Montjoie although it was only called Monschau since ~1918
- I believe the Westphalian district of Hörde is spelt as „Horde“ in the quiz
- it would also be nice to accept Moers for Mörs, although it is also not historically accurate
But overall, it's a fantastic and unique quiz with a really good level of difficulty, I found myself extremely surprised to get even half of the answers (if not for Bavaria maybe more^^)
I'll change them. Sorry but it's got 1060 answers, mistakes were bound to happen.
In regards to the French/German names, I made the decision to only allow the names used at the time (1900) except those with an existing english translation (so Munich, Strasbourg, Cologne, etc)
I suspect somebody with a spotlight award saw the quiz, liked it, and decided to spotlight it.
Tremendous work, but if I click on it, I might end up going insane.
