WARNING
Stay behind the propeller when rotating the propeller.
NOTE 1
The engine should be considered warm after the first start of the day. If in doubt, the warm engine start procedure should be used.
NOTE 2
During very hot weather a deliberate over-priming may be necessary to clear the fuel lines for vapor. See Flooded Engine Starting, on page N-10.
NOTE 3
At temperatures below freezing point the propeller should be rotated two to three turns by hand before engaging the starter.
NOTE 4
At temperatures below 0 the oil should be preheated before starting the engine.
NOTE 5
Do not engage the starter for more than 10 seconds. Allow the starter to cool 20 seconds between start attempts. After 6 start attempts, allow starter to cool for 30 minutes.
NOTE 6
If minimum oil pressure is not indicated within 30 seconds after engine start, stop engine and troubleshoot.
