Xiamen is excluded due to not being a single continuous urban area
The Mandarin column only includes Chinese cities that speak a traditional dialect of Mandarin, thus, cities like Shanghai and Guangzhou that speak Wu and Cantonese are excluded.

Does "Rhine-Ruhr" have any type-ins? It's not a city in its own right, and (the ever-wrong) Wikipedia says that Dusseldorf and Cologne are part of the Rhine-Ruhr area. Very confusing!

Yeah, it is confusing. Citypopulation.de, the site I was using for populations, divided the Rhine ruhr into those two metro areas. As for type-ins, Dortmund works for it, but I’ve added Essen and Duisburg as well
