Out of interest, on what did you base this list? Also why is Marx not included. I would argue that he very much shaped the last century.

Interesting list; Rand instead of Marx.....??

There's actually a very good reason why I didn't include Marx on this list.

I forgot about him. Sorry.

I would contest de Beauvoir's place on this list. Other than that, good quiz.

She definitely belongs here. More than most others listed. But the "de" should be removed so that "Beauvoir" alone is an acceptable answer.

The only person who really shouldn't be here is Ayn Rand. She's not an actual philosopher.

Is this by birthplace or country of death? Rousseau was not born in France, he was a Swiss Genevan philosopher. Kant was also not born in present day Germany. Also Beauvoir should be acceptable as an answer for de Beauvoir.

Kant was born in Koenigsberg, Prussia. Prussia was a German state. For the same reason, Augustine is for instance not an Algerian.

This is a very random and arbitrary selection. No Leibniz, Marx, Russell, Heidegger, Aquinas, Machiavelli, Wittgenstein...

Typically American made list full of prejudices against Marxism.
