13th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party

This covers the period from 1987 to 1992. At the 13th National Congress, Hu Yaobang was removed as General Secretary in favor of Premier Zhao Ziyang. Two years later, Zhao would be removed from his position due to his role in the Tiananmen Square Protests alongside Politburo Standing Committee member Hu Qili. He would be replaced as General Secretary by Shanghai Party Secretary Jiang Zemin. Jiang would become Paramount Leader of China until around 2002-2005, when Jiang gradually retired from his Party positions
