Virgin Islands National Park
95% of the area of this National Park is water, not land. It preserves vast swaths of mangrove swamp and portions of one of the world's largest coral reefs.
Biscayne National Park
This remote National Park is a world class destination for canoeing and kayaking. It was named for the French Fur traders who once did the same.
Voyageurs National Park
This National Park contains over 420 miles of cave with more being discovered to this day, though only about 3 miles are accessible by the general public.
Mammoth Cave National Park
This park preserves a small group of islands in the Caribbean and features a military fort used both in the Civil War and the Spanish-American War.
Dry Tortugas National Park
First proposed to be a National Park by Stephen Mather in 1916, over 100 years later it was designated as such. Chicago's skyline is visible from the park.
Indiana Dunes National Park
The closest National Park to Washington D.C. It was initially criticized for its aggressive eminent domain acquisitions, including a smear campaign of uncooperative residents as inbred "hillbillies" to create support for forced evictions.
