Sorry, I made a quiz like this back in December because I couldn't find this in search when I checked. You don't mind me keeping it? I guess mine only includes countries with populations over 1 million.

This is an amazing quiz an great fun. Just one thing not sure if it was just my computer but the dot for Palestine when you clicked "show missing countries" showed up in the top left hand corner rather than on Palestine

Still very fun. And I've apparently played it too many times now, because this time my first mistake came on country #131. Of course, this means that my knowledge of relative populations is frozen at a particular time and all changes will now seem unnatural to me.

Love this quiz! One piece of feedback: it would great if the letter hint showed-up on the actual map itself. Having to scroll up and down is time-consuming.

Yeah I start with the biggest then go to the smallest and then the ones with a unique or unusual first letter and backfill the others.

I remember a quiz like that where the letter was showed on the map and not in the list. That would be much more efficient that way. As it is now, it is tedious to scroll down to see it for each answer.

My main takeaway from this was that Yemen is nearly 10x the size of Oman population-wise. That's actually mind-blowing.

Great Quiz! I would like to ask if you could add the "already guessed" option. Also, if there is anyway to either show freeze the map when you scroll downwards, or, if you could show the letter of the highlighted blank, it would help tremendously and cut down on the scrolling back and forth.

There are more countries in Micronesia than just the Federated States of Micronesia. Calling it "Micronesia" is like calling the US "America".

It is tough to be in a panic for like well about 38 minutes haha. Should have done much better, so I will get back to this one day. If anything this trains not to get a mental block. I jumped from method to method (for instance going through all the i's. Or in order of the list or trying to track down one specific answer) Not sure if with sticking with one method I would have done better or not. Would certainly have felt a lot less frantic haha. (Now it felt like I had one bucket and multiple leaks, and running from one to another... pointless panic haha).

Anyway I got 123 this time. Hopefully I will do better another time. But need to recuperate from this haha. So another day.

Ps apart from the unconventional quizzes, I think this might be one of the better ones on here. It test several things at once.

Edit and I agree with the scrolling, it made it more time consuming, luckily not less fun :)

And even if the map stayed in view, the list is so long you need to scroll through that anyway (if you are going after certain letters). I don't think that is an option, but if the font is a lot smaller and it would be 3 rows, that would help a lot already. 4 would mean nearly all in view. I prefer tiny letters over scrolling through the list (cause it gave me very sore eyes and a headache).

Thank you for your feedback ! Really appreciated reading your experience, I tried to change a little the hints and answers to be smaller but more convenient to use with less scrolling.

Hi, I saw that some comments were suggesting that you add the letter of the next country as a clue, or perhaps display the next population size so that users dont have to keep scrolling up and down. You said to one of the commenters that if they knew someone to make this edit to the quiz, they should tell you. I know that 'Scambigol' has done a similar quiz to you (all countries by area), as they had a clue by displaying the first letter of that country, so that users didnt need to keep scrolling.

So overall I suggest Scambigol, they might be able to help you make that edit to your quiz

Still many errors. I didn't write them down (pressed for time...), but could you check Ukraine and Saudi Arabia? I think both were off, along with a lot of the smaller pop countries (under 3 million)

I was stuck after Angola. The hint said M and I tried LITERALLY every M. I finally gave up and it should have been Ukraine and then Morocco (which is where the M came from). Not sure what happened here, but I have beaten this before, so obviously it was not always like this.

And thank you for your feedback ! As I said to another user I'm not an expert of svg maps so it was quite hard to find out why specific countries didn't get me the wanted letter. And as I still wasn't able to figure it out I kinda dodged the problem to make it work. So perfect if it works well now !

The map was still showing S for Singapore even after I had skipped to the next country L, caused much confusion and left me guessing all S’s to no avail as I assumed you weren’t allowed to skip. In hindsight should have reset the answer box back to the S but easier said than done when you’re three minutes left and panicking 🤪

Great fun otherwise!
