Saudia / Kazakhstan Airlines
The rear cargo door failed on a McDonnell DC-10, leading to a loss of control. The aircraft crashed into a forest near Paris. All 346 passengers and crew on board died.

Turkish Airlines
A Boeing 747 crashed off the coast of Ireland when a bomb exploded in its cargo hold. All 329 people on board perished.

Air India
301 people died when a Lockheed L-1011 caught on fire, despite the aircraft making an emergency landing at Riyadh airport.

Saudia
A Boeing 777 was shot down near the border of Russia and Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of all 298 passengers and crew.

Malaysia Airlines
Over the Strait of Hormuz, an Airbus A-300 was struck by a missile. It crashed into the ocean and all 290 people on board were killed.
1988
Iran Air
A Boeing 787 crashed into a medical hostel soon after take-off from Ahmedabad Airport, killing all but one of its occupants as well as numerous people on the ground. The total death toll was 275.

Air India
When a McDonnell Douglas DC-10 lost its left engine on takeoff at Chicago O'Hare Airport, the resulting crash killed all 273 passengers and crew.
1979
American Airlines
A bomb detonated on board a Boeing 747, and it crashed on the town of Lockerbie in Scotland. 259 passengers and crew died, as well as eleven people on the ground.
1988
Pan Am
A Boeing 747 flew into Soviet airspace and was shot down and crashed west of Sakhalin Island, killing all 269 on board the aircraft.

Korean Air Lines
Unorthodox rudder inputs caused the crash of an Airbus A3000 in the Belle Harbor neighborhood of Queens, New York. 260 passengers and crew on board perished, as did five people on the ground.
2001
American Airlines
Pilot error resulted in the crash of an Airbus A300 at Nagoya Airport in Japan. 264 passengers and crew died; seven survived.
1994
China Airlines
A Douglas DC-8 experienced a fire when two of its tires ignited on take-off from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. It crashed before it could return to the airport, killing 261 people.
