The structure for “soap” is an ion and is therefore ambiguous. Please either show the counterion or accept ‘dodecanoate’ or “laurate.” “ tenside” might also be a good valid answer.

This is according to what is within the SQA Higher Chemistry course, as stated, so the answer is correct. There may be other correct answers, but as they are not at Higher Chemistry level, they will not count towards this specific quiz.
