interesting point I like your thinking, but I will say:
Silvestre in my opinion is criminally underrated by United fans: 4 PL titles, 1 UCL, 1 FA Cup, 1 League Cup, 1 Community Shield, pretty much everything you can win. 275 Premier League appearances, 8 years at the club.
It's probably because he was always outshone by Ferdinand, Vidic, even Evra... and that he left for Arsenal.
Not a Man U fan but I can easily remember nearly everyone in the 90s and 00s teams. Get totally lost with the 10s and 20s players. It's partly my age, partly because the teams never gelled and they kept moving players on.
You can just about divide that group of players into 5 categories:
1. Champions
2. If I start too many games, I will stop you being champions (Alan Smith, old-man Blanc, I'm-too-young-for-this Januzaj,...)
3. I'll make you worse (Fellaini, Casemiro, Martial,...)
4. Can you believe I was a regular starter in a champion team? Me! (Sharpe, Bosnich, Silvestre,...).
5. My dad picks the team (Ferguson).
