Pokemon Anime Trivia - Ash's Biggest Fails

Surprisingly Ash never got swept in Kanto. Also surprisingly these are the only Gym leaders Ash got team wiped by. At least it was to Whitney's Miltank, so at least the gamers out there can relate.

Since a swarm of Beedrill interupted them, Samurai's battle was officially undecided even though it was clear he would win. Misty never battled Ash before Brock despite clear motive to challenge him for destroying her bike and being the first trainer he meets. And Team Rocket is Team Rocket, and while Team Rocket did defeat his Pidgeotto, the only one of 2 times they manage to defeat a "Twerp" Pokemon the other being James disguised as Jessilina beating Dawn's Mamoswine, they are still Team Rocket, this was before their blast offs were a thing too.

While all of these did happen, the main reason was Charizard disobeying him. So while Charizard lost to Sparky I wanted the reason why. Team Rocket did kidnap him but he escaped by stealing their balloon, which allowed him to barely make it to his match. And while his Pikachu did lose to Zippo, that wasn't his last Pokemon.

The first Pokemon he caught as well as the first he released, at least its's poetic.

During the episode "The Sun, the Scare, and the Secret Lair!", Ash lost to Team Rocket, but Bewear kidnapped Team Rocket before they could finish the job, making the battle officially declared undecided. However it doesn't change the fact that both Pikachu and Rowlet lost to Team Rocket at the time. Pidgeotto lost in the episode "Ash Catches a Pokemon", Pidgeotto lost to Team Rocket's Koffing and Ekans.

Sending a month old Scraggy not just into a tournament battle but against what was practically a level 100 Throh, no need to consult Death Battle. At least the accuracy of Focus Blast works just like when I use it in the games

"So Pidove's a girl? Talk about a lucky break." For once Ash's obliviousness is funny. Nice they establish its gender before it evolved early on.

At least he didn't order Pikachu to use Thunderbolt, otherwise Iris's hair would be the new bike.

"I hate sand" - Anakin. Also he does hook a Magikarp in a flashback from before he started his journey but planned to throw it back.

How is he not dead? Also if you thought Thunderbolt you're wrong because Ash's Pikachu had Thundershock for most of the early seasons. So Charmeleon and Charizard's Flamethrowers are the clear winner, with Ash's skin and hair the loser.

Apparently sleep in the early seasons counts as a KO, after all, Ash beat Misty's Staryu with Butterfree's Sleep Powder, but at least it's not a kiss of death from Nickie Minaj. While Lickitung's lick was a close contender, it did that to alot of the protagonist's Pokemon in its first appearance, and this was before Electric types were immune to Paralysis so it's at least understandable.

Despite what most people on YouTube and other fan made sources say, that Snivy was not level 5 since it knew leaf tornado, a move that Snivy can only learn by reaching level 16. Levels are in fact cannon to the anime since a character named Joe listed not only Pidgey can evolve at level 18, but also listed it's level up move pool and at what levels it learn what.

Piplup's words echo in its head, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh h h h h h............ Am I dead? Am I dead". Seriously why doesn't Dawn put Piplup in its Pokeball whenever Ash sends out Gible to battle? At least it was an incredible plot device at the time it did target Piplup.

He was somehow more of an idiot than Season 1 Ash, who wouldn't have even qualified since he thought the eighth badge was the "Winner's Badge" for winning the Unova League and, even after qualifying, wouldn't have been able to compete anyway since he didn't know he had to register if Ash didn't tell him. He the proceeded to beat Ash with just 5 Pokemon to Ash's 6. While his win was stupid, what was even stupider was Ash leading himself to his worst defeat, twice.
