30/30. O... M... G! I thought I'd never get Lahore; who knows regions of Pakistan anyway? I tried so hard thinking of any name, and then I tried Punjab although I thought that would be wrong.
I felt that "Punjab" was fair game because (a) this is an English-speaking website, India and Pakistan are both English-speaking countries, and anyone who knows the geography of either will be able to name that region; (b) Punjabi cuisine, especially if you count chicken tikka masala, is now ubiquitous throughout the English-speaking world, so some people will have heard of it that way; and (c) the quiz quietly accepts "Mogul" as an alternate answer (much the way it accepts "Aragon" as an alternate answer for "Catalonia"), and the Mogul Empire was memorable enough in world history that the name "Mogul" entered the English language with the definition "a powerful person".
India and Pakistan both have English as a national language, and have (respectively) the second and fourth largest number of English speakers on the planet. So yes.
Punjab is one of the main regions in South Asia that someone would happen to know or at least be familiar with since it's a state/province in both India and Pakistan
What do the levels mean? When I finished this quiz, I got a message saying my performance raised me to a new level. I assume this was part of the recent changes to the site.
I got the same thing yesterday (level 57) and have gotten high results on a bunch of newly-taken quizzes since then, but haven't advanced a level yet. Would really like it if this were explained somewhere.
You got to level 57 without realising that the more quizzes you do the higher your level becomes, and that to get to each new level needs more points that previous ones?
100%. My brother helped by looking the ones we didn't know up. If we knew were they were but didn't know the territory, I had an atlas 2 inches away from me.
So, basically, you cheated on most of the questions and are bragging about it? This quiz wasn't even that hard, too, so you're embarrassing yourself as well!
I want to own a sports team in French Guyana named the Cayenne Peppers. Our uniforms would be mostly red, but would include a bright green helmet or cap. Our cheerleaders would be called the Ghost Peppers due to their high placement on the
I might suppose it is only asking for the first-level administrative division, which all the answers seem to be—a lot of these are their own second-level subdivision, as a matter of fact (although it's not fully comparable, for example, I know in Germany and Poland they have an idea of an "independent city" at the second-level including both Munich and Gdańsk)
Based on the comment and response a few comments up (with a timestamp of only a day or so ago), I'd imagine it has something to with a correction for Montréal having been asserted to be the capital of Québec...
Only 13/27, but I'm still surprised that I got 0/5 points. With more patience, I would probably have gotten a couple more. Still, I like it when I have room for improvement and learning.
I'm Australia :/
Scoville scale.
Thanks!
I believe "Pakistani Punjab" should be an acceptable type-in
