As a Cambridge man, I love it that Oxford isn't even second, though I have my doubts about your source.

The source is the guardian university rankings which is a well respected source for students looking for Unis. Though it isn’t the only one, the guardian is a very well respected source and one that is referred to a lot.

Even so, it's an odd list in some ways unless you look a bit further down, where the likes of Edinburgh, Bristol, Nottingham, Glasgow, UCL, Southampton and Manchester are to be found. But it is misleading to claim that these are the 'top 10 universities' according to the Guardian. As the paper itself explains, this list is specifically aimed at students looking to choose a course – the criteria used are factors likely to influence potential undergraduates. It takes no account of research, for instance, but does lay heavy emphasis on the quality of teaching (a thoroughly good idea in my own view).
