Please accept "Saint Helena" and "Terror/Terreur". Also, the Code Napoléon is *not* a constitution but a systematic collection of laws! (also accept by the way: Napoleonic Code, Code civil des Français; Code civil; Civil code)
Done and Done, hope you like the changes. I am quite surprised that anyone actually found this quiz so I hope that you enjoyed it. If you want any further changes I would be happy to be obliged.
Tough quiz, thanks for making it. Please consider accepting Battle of the Pyramids and Hesse; tried both of those and then gave up when they didn't work.
So close my friend, did you do it out of your own knowledge by any chance, is there any way I can improve the quiz to make it a fun one to come back to?
The quiz is very good but there are some mistakes. Firstly, Belgium and Poland did not exist at the time : Belgium was part of the Austrian Netherlands while Poland was occupied by Prussia, Austria and Russia because of the Partitions of Poland (1772-1795). Then, the name « Fredrick Wilhelm III » is a mix between English and German : it’s better to accept the German name « Friedrich Wilhelm III ». Also, Napoleon ended the French Directory (1795-1799), not the « Reign of Terror » (1793-1794) : chronological mistake. Finally, Egypt wasn’t ruled by Mamluks when Napoleon led his campaign : the Mamluk Sultanate ceased to exist when Selim I annexed it to the Ottoman Empire (1517). Hope this helped 😉
1. Belgium was indeed part of the Austrian Netherlands and later part of the re-unified independent United Netherlands. I will remove it henceforth.
2. I have had a lot of grief with Jetpunk engine as it just does not like to co-operate when I tell it to accept the synonymous German spelling. The issue with the name is that the entire name is essential for clarity unfortunately making it very hard to use.
3. I personally consider the Directory to be a continuation of the reign of Terror since it continued the mass use of the guillotine. The Prompt asks what "period" was ended by Napoleon's rise to power rather than what "Government".
You are of course absolutely correct that he did overthrow the Directory and that it was his immediate predecessor however I feel that you are perhaps missing my angle.
I will happily add such a prompt for the "Directory" if you would like.
4. On review I do agree with the removal of the Mamluk Sultanate.
