Amazing how you keep doing this with such dedication. Whenever you release you modern day countries quizzes, I'm always like, he's run out of empires, and then lo, you make one more.

Just one small problem I observed with the map, for whatever reason, when I zoom in, the paths disappear

This doesn't seem to be happening on my side at all.

Awesome quiz! Unfortunately zooming in doesn’t work. The black line for the bottom left section as well as the colony names in the bottom left show up, but besides that it’s all blue. I think it’s a mobile problem

Weren't Brazil and Maranhao different states within the Portuguese empire at this point? I also think it might be a good idea to accept Hudson's Bay Company for Rupert's Land, as it was the company that was administering the territory. Great quiz though!

Thanks! Maranhao had actually already merged with Brazil by 1775. I'll accept "Hudson's" and "HBC" for Rupert's Land though.

I always knew it as the Hudson Bay Company. I guess I should have tried the initialism...

New Brunswick should not be separated from Nova Scotia. New Brunswick was part of Nova Scotia until 1784, when the colonies were split following the migration of loyalists into the region.

Not that it matters too much, but the Iroquois Confederacy wasn’t ever considered a colony was it? I’m a little fuzzy on it, but was it considered independent from both the Reserve Land and from Quebec? It was it just independent? Would it make sense to add a caveat that there is an autonomous indigenous nation?

Oh, and I’ll also point out that this is an amazing SVG!

Thanks! Yeah, I'd say it's complicated. It was essentially akin to a protectorate at this point, but by no means under direct British control. This wasn't out of the ordinary though with the British controlling different technically non-colonial protectorates later on in history (e.g. Tonga, Afghanistan, Brunei, Bhutan, etc.).

Colonial Powers: I'm gonna make each island separate and give them all different names!

Also Colonial Powers: Yep, all that's Peru.

well it is the name of the region...

I think it was because the islands were controlled by multiple countries

Great quiz!. I don't think Suriname was named until somewhen in the 20th century. I kept looking for Dutch Guiana which would have covered this year.

It's crazy how many colonies there were in Guyana, a country that has a lower population than most U.S. states

Would it be possible to color-code the colonies by their mother country?
