Antigua and Barbados does have 4 A's (just happens to also have 5). I'm guessing it does not count because it doesn't have exactly four?

Mali shouldn't be an acceptable answer for the Scrabble question. The M tile is worth 3 points, so Mali would score 6.

Brazil isn't south of the equator, it is on the equator. Maybe change the clue to say it has territory south of the equator?

I was going to say that its included because parts of Brazil are south of the equator, but then France would be on here because of Reunion (which is equivalent to Hawaii).

most of brazil is south of the equator... comparing it to france makes no sense when it's just some islands while more than 90% of the brazilian territory is in the south

The Olympics are hosted by cities, not countries. That's why the question has some wording issues.

Rio de Janeiro is located below the equator in Brazil, but I agree that the question probably isn't worded as well as it could be.

That is a true fact about the word, but it's used as an adjective in the clue, so I'm not sure why this quiz revealed this information to you.

+5

Nope, I think it means 1 of the last three including this one. It should be worded better if USA is not an answer.
+1
Level 55
Sep 3, 2025
I think it is a question of interpretation. "The last three popes" could include the current one (Leo XIV, from the USA) or not. I also though it would be included, but no.

The question could be more clear by adding a simple : "...the last three popes, excluding the present pope.".

considering that argentina is included and the last update was before the death of Fracis, i dont think it excludes the current pope

That scrabble question is bad, it has nothing to do with geography, just name as much 4 letter countries as you can and get lucky
+1
Level 32
Sep 3, 2025
It's not about geography but it's also not just totally random guesses. You'd try to choose a country with really common letters (for example, no point guessing Iraq as q is an uncommon letter so would be worth too many points)

"whose name for its people end in -ISH" To me this implies that the name, in that country's own language, ends in 'ish'. In which case several of those answers would be incorrect. I'm thinking 'Dansk', 'Svensk' for a start.
