Not really. They had a coalition where a communist party held the reins, but it was still a democracy. Big difference.

I don't think Germany qualifies for this? It's considered to be a continuation of West Germany on Jetpunk. And it reunified pretty much after the Cold War ended (I know that some place it till 1991 or even later, but it was pretty much over the moment Berlin wall fell and first countries broke off in 1989)
