Please add moissanite.

Too bad. The NGrams are probably out of date. Moissanite is amazing. Super easy to manufacture, better sparkle then diamonds, and a 9.5 on the Mohs hardness scale.

The nGrams do only go up to 2019, so it's definitely out of date. It seems that Moissanite has 16,000,000 Google results, more than double of some of the others on this list, so I'll add it as a type-in.

Well, to be fair, I only have that caveat to justify omitting hundreds of gemstones nobody cares about. It's easy enough to add type-ins if anyone has a favourite gemstone that's omitted.

Fun! I was surprised peridot didn't make it for "P" though.

Added. It wasn’t in my source but is common enough on nGrams.

This is great! :) I like mineral quizzes.

You should add chrysoberyl and chrysoprase, though. Also, I kept typing hyacinth for H, and it should work as well as hematite.

Sure. And here I thought hyacinth was just flowers.

It's not the same as hematite, though. :) I meant that it should work for the letter H as well as hematite does. Sorry for putting it in a misunderstandable way.

Nominated, by the way. :) I forgot to say that.

Yeah, it is its own thing… but I would have to reset the stats to include it in the answer properly. For now I’ll just leave it as a type-in.

Simply "Lapis" should be accepted for L.

Ivory is very tenuous… also where’s tanzanite!! It’s the best
