Making this quiz broke my brain. Looking at a list of words, I thought, “well chough and bough aren’t common enough for this quiz, I don’t even know what they mean. … … Oh, BOUGH!!!”

Pronouncing “thorough” like “so” must be American or something. I’m Australian and pronounce it with more of an “ah” sound lol

Yeah, it’s the “proper” pronunciation from the 1700s, while the London accent took over after that. Older colonies of Britain all use the old way, newer ones use the London accent pronunciation, including Australia!
