Distaste is much more common than foretaste and seems to have developed a meaning of its own.

You are 100% right. I must have misread the spreadsheet with my data on it. I thought it was odd so I looked up both words and Merriam-Webster listed the first couple definitions of distaste as archaic, so I figured that “distasteful” must be the only modern usage of it. Turns out the common usage is listed as a secondary definition for some reason… weird.

Thanks for the kind words! Namaste… My word list didn’t even have that one! I am going to check that on Google Ngram because it’d be a neat word to include.
