Biggest Cities Above 1 km Altitude on a Flooded Map
Aliens have bombarded the Earth with giant water balloons, rising the sea level by 1 kilometer! Can you guess the most populous cities that have not been submerged?
The altitude of the city center is considered
Based on urban area population according to citypopulation.de (2024)
If the Martian bombardment somehow triggers the collapse of the wall/fence between El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, the resulting urban agglomeration looks like it would make the list.
I may get whooshed here but Greenland's biggest city of Nuuk only has around 19,000 people in it, with every other town having less than 6,000 people. Even if Nuuk survived (which I'm pretty sure it wouldn't) it still sadly won't even be close to making the top 20.
And also largest USA cities?
Btw I think El Paso, Colorado Springs and Albuquerque would be the USA's next largest cities after Denver in this scenario.
Also Colorado would likely be the most populated state.
