Jeez, this is a really sad topic. I read a bit about Virginia Woolf after seeing her here. God, is depression ever a horrific thing to deal with. I’m glad many more people can get help with mental illness today than even a generation ago.

So true, sometimes it’s crazy for me to think that some of these people who had so much in terms of fame and fortune could still struggle so deeply with these things. It really does prove that money and power don’t necessarily solve your problems.

In spite of all the progress we’ve made in mental over the years, there’s still this stigma about discussing it that makes it hard for people to really talk about what’s going on. To anyone out there whose struggling with mental health I want to let you know that there are always people around that can help you. And if your family and friends are not supporting you like they should, it’s time to find some people that will. I can assure you that 90% of people around the world would be willing to help you if you’re ever needing it. It’s really just a matter of asking. Someone will always be willing to work with you to find a better place.

You might need to give a different job description for Mark Antony and Hannibal.

It's also a murky topic to pin down - was it really a suicide for Socrates and Nero? Based on how it happened, i kind of think only one of them would qualify but you could take your pick on which...

I agree. Mark Antony was a politician, but not an emperor. Actually, there were no emperors until the next generation, Augustus being the first.

Hannibal was not an emperor either, he was a general. (Though, to tell the truth, I would never have thought of him if the quiz said "general" either. I remembered his victories, his losses and most of all his elephants from school, not his suicide.)

Otherwise it's a really great quiz, although somewhat depressing.

(As for your other remark: if you asked me which person of the two committed suicide, I'd pick Nero. But I see your point is slightly different.)

"Bennington" by itself doesn't work????

As mentioned above, Antony was NOT any kind of emperor, nor was Hannibal.

Sadly it shows the increased risk of suicide for people living with bipolar. Out of all these people, at least four were known to be bipolar; Van Gogh, Cobian, Hemingway and Woolf… also showing how the condition correlates strongly with creative genius

Just "Bennington" should be accepted.

Likewise, please accept just "Allende". Last names are generally all that is required for answers on Jetpunk unless specifically stated otherwise.
